Outrageous Hot Fudge Sauce

January 25, 2011

I am thrilled to share a recipe for Outrageous Hot Fudge Sauce. It is a dead-ringer for the famous hot fudge served at Brigham’s Ice Cream Parlour in Boston, MA. A New England tradition, Brigham’s is known for its velvety, rich hot fudge smothered on top of homemade ice cream.

Outrageous Hot Fudge Sauce

1/2 cup margarine
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 squares unsweetened chocolate
1/2 cup cocoa
Dash salt
1 cup light cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cooking Instructions

  • Melt butter and chocolate in a saucepan, stirring constantly until well combined.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in cocoa, sugar, and salt. Add cream with whisk.
  • Return to heat and stir constantly.
  • Bring to boil.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add vanilla extract.
  • Put in jars while still hot.
