I just got back from the gym and made my favorite post-workout snack…. a Blueberry Banana Smoothie. This smoothie is not only delicious and satisfying, but it is good for you too. I know you are thinking anything creamy is not healthy, but trust me on this one. The secret? Adding lowfat cottage cheese. It creates the smoothest and creamiest smoothie you’ve ever had. Creamy (and Healthy) Blueberry Banana Smoothie
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 frozen banana (you can use a regular banana if you do not have one frozen)
1/2 cup lowfat cottage cheese
1 cup of unsweetened almond milk or soy milk (my favorite is unsweetened vanilla almond milk – only 40 calories per cup!)
Simply add all of the ingredients into the blender along with a few ice cubes and mix well for a couple minutes until everything is blended.
